The City of Garden City Seeks Public Applicants for Community Housing

 

Garden City, GA – The City of Garden City is excited to announce an open call for citizens interested in serving on the Garden City Community Housing Committee. The Committee plays a vital advisory role in shaping the future of local housing policy, neighborhood revitalization, and affordable housing initiatives. The Housing Committee will meet monthly to review and recommend strategies to the Mayor and Council, participate in specialized training, and identify key community housing needs. Members will collaborate on recommendations regarding grant opportunities, zoning, public engagement, and programs to expand access to quality housing.

 

To ensure a diverse and effective committee, Garden City is seeking applicants from the following backgrounds:

• Real estate development (1)

• Housing non-profit or social services (2)

• Business, banking, or education (1)

• Local residents with a grassroots perspective. (1)

 

"Citizen involvement is essential to the success of our housing initiatives," said Mayor Campbell. "We encourage residents with a passion for community development and affordable housing to apply. Your voice can make a real difference in shaping Garden City’s future."

 

Individuals must be willing to serve voluntarily. Housing, community development, or related experience helps but isn't necessary. The deadline for applications is Friday, September 11th, 2026.
