Planning Divisions

The Planning & Economic Development Department is comprised of several specialized divisions that work together to guide the City's growth, strengthen the local economy, protect community resources, and enhance the quality of life for residents, businesses, and visitors.

Planning Commission

The Garden City Planning & Zoning Commission is appointed by the Garden City City Council. Their duties include reviewing and deciding on cases requesting variances and/or code interpretations on the regulatory ordinances of the City, including but not limited to Zoning Ordinances, Land Subdivision Regulations, and Planned Urban Development Regulations

Code Enforcement

Code Enforcement helps protect public health, safety, and quality of life by addressing property maintenance concerns and enforcing applicable City ordinances.
