Long Range Planning

Long Range Planning helps the city look beyond immediate projects and consider how growth, development, transportation, housing, infrastructure, environmental stewardship, and community investment fit together over time. It is the division responsible for helping Garden City prepare for the future while ensuring today's decisions support long-term community goals.

This division coordinates major planning initiatives, redevelopment strategies, corridor studies, growth policies, special projects, and implementation efforts that help guide the city's future direction. It also oversees Growth Roadmap 2026 (GR26), a citywide initiative focused on organizing priorities, tracking progress, identifying opportunities, and connecting planning efforts to visible results.

Long Range Planning serves as the bridge between vision and implementation—helping transform ideas, goals, and community priorities into a clearer path forward for Garden City.
