As our residents can attest, Garden City has not only a rich history, but offers many opportunities for commerce, recreation and education.

Over the past months, we have been contemplating how we can better serve our residents and their needs on the Internet. This site is the result of this endeavor and will continue to improve. The goal of this site is to make my office more accessible to Garden City's residents as well as making the Garden City Government more responsive to the needs of our citizens and to those seeking information about us. The City overall, as well as the City Government Staff, believes public service is a high calling and prides itself on the many partnerships, collaborations and joint ventures, which are all intended to enhance the quality of life for all of our residents, taxpayers, customers and visitors to our community. About Brian Johnson

Brian L. Johnson, a native of Hendersonville, NC, has served as the City Manager of Garden City since February of 2007.

Prior to his appointment as the City Manager, Brian served nine years in the military as both an Intelligence Analyst in the United States Navy and as an Infantry Officer in the United States Army. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science as well as a Master of Public Administration from the University of Georgia.

Brian and his wife, the former Cheri Wehling of Washington, Kansas, have a daughter, Ilona Beth and a son Elias Benjamin.
