Chatham Parkway Rehabilitation
Notice to Contractors and Invitation/Advertisement for Bids
Sealed bids will be received for Chatham Parkway Rehabilitation in the office of Garden City - City Hall until 3:00 P.M. (Local Time), January 19, 2016, at which time they will be publicly opened and read. No late bids will be opened or considered.
The work under this Contract will consist generally of the following:
Reconstruction of 1.0 miles of the existing asphalt roadway between I-16 and US Highway 80 including full depth pavement replacement, pavement build-up and overlay, reconstruction of curb and gutter, earth shoulder and ditch improvements, pipe replacements, roadway striping and replacement of signs.
Georgia Department of Transportation Standard Specifications, Construction of Transportation Systems, 2013 Edition, apply to this contract.
The Plans and Specifications are available for inspection at the office of Hussey Gay Bell, Consulting Engineers, 329 Commercial Drive, Savannah, Georgia.
One (1) set of Plans, Specifications and other Contract Documents may be obtained by application, accompanied by a check or money order in the amount of $200.00 payable to Hussey, Gay, Bell & DeYoung, Inc., 329 Commercial Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31406 to the attention of Carole Gay. No refund will be made for returned documents.

Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or Bid Bond in the amount of five percent of the amount bid. The successful bidder must be able to provide a Payment Bond and Performance Bond within ten days of Notice of Award. These bonds must be in the amount of 100 percent of the contract amount.
In accordance with State of Georgia Code Section 43-14-8.2(h), the low bidder must furnish proof that they have a Utility Contractor's License before a contract will be executed.
A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held January 5, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. at the Garden City - City Hall.
A Non-Collusion Affidavit must be completed and submitted with the bid.
Garden City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities.
